King Khan made his acting debut with the television series "Fauji." After appearing in several other television shows, Khan moved to Mumbai in 1991 following the death of his parents and made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with "Deewana," in which his performance earned him a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. He went on to win his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in "Baazigar," Filmfare Critic's Award for Best Performance for "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa," and Filmfare Best Villain Award for "Anjaam." He won his second, third, and fourth Best Actor Awards in 1995, 1997 and 1998 for his performances in "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Dil to Pagal Hai" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," respectively. His performance in the 2000 film "Mohabbatein" earned him his second Critic's Award for Best Performance. That same year, Khan set up his own production house, Dreamz Unlimited, with Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla. He won the Best Actor award for the fifth, sixth, and seventh times with "Devdas" in 2002, "Swades" in 2004, and "Chak De India" in 2007.
In addition to acting, Khan is also a producer and television host. He set up another production company called Red Chillies Entertainment in 2004. He also hosted popular game shows such as "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and "Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?"
Khan married Gauri Khan in 1991, and the couple has two children, son Aryan Khan and daughter Suhana. A figure of him is on display at Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London. There are two books and a documentary that detail Khan's private and professional lives.
